Dubai showcases AI-powered Financial Compliance Technology

Dubai showcases AI-powered Financial Compliance Technology

Dubai is strengthening its approach to financial compliance through new artificial intelligence (AI) solutions showcased by government and banking institutions. Recent developments at the Dubai FinTech Summit 2026 highlight how AI can help organisations identify compliance gaps, assess financial risks and improve financial monitoring.

The key announcements include Dubai Finance’s AIltizam platform and new AI partnerships involving Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD). These developments come as AI adoption continues to grow among financial firms in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). They also highlight why businesses need accurate accounting records, reliable financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Dubai Finance presents AIltizam platform

Dubai Finance showcased its AIltizam platform at the Dubai FinTech Summit, held on 2 and 3 November 2026. The platform uses AI to support compliance with financial laws and regulations.

AIltizam can identify compliance gaps, assess related risks and provide recommendations and reports to support decision-making. This helps organisations identify areas that may need attention and improve financial governance.

The platform reflects a wider shift towards using technology in public finance. AI can help teams review information and spot potential issues more efficiently. However, it does not replace professional judgement, human oversight or the need for proper financial controls.

CBD explores AI-powered financial screening

Commercial Bank of Dubai also announced new technology partnerships during the summit. One key agreement is with Silent Eight, an AI specialist in financial crime compliance.

The agreement will explore AI-powered name-screening solutions for customer screening, payment screening and transaction monitoring. These checks help financial institutions review information and identify activity that may require further investigation.

CBD also announced a collaboration with Microsoft to support AI adoption and explore new uses across its business functions. These partnerships show how banks are looking at AI to support financial crime compliance, risk management and operational efficiency.

For financial institutions, accurate transaction records, proper reporting and clear compliance procedures remain essential. AI can support screening and monitoring, but banks remain responsible for their systems and decisions.

AI adoption rises across DIFC firms

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has reported a steady rise in AI use across the financial sector. Its 2026 AI Survey found that 71% of surveyed DFSA-authorized firms used at least one form of AI. This compares with 52% in 2025 and 33% in 2024.

The survey also found that the use of generative AI in internal systems and controls, including audit, compliance and risk management, increased from 39% in 2025 to 52% in 2026.

As adoption grows, firms must also consider the risks linked to AI. The Central Bank of the UAE’s guidance on AI and machine learning highlights governance, transparency, fairness, data protection and human oversight for licensed financial institutions.

What businesses should do now

These developments are relevant not only to banks but also to businesses that must meet financial and regulatory requirements. Poor bookkeeping, incomplete records and weak internal controls can make it harder to explain transactions, identify errors and meet reporting obligations.

Companies should review their accounting processes, keep financial records up to date and maintain clear reporting procedures. They should also assess their tax compliance obligations and ensure their financial information supports sound business decisions. Good budgeting and forecasting can further help businesses plan their financial needs and manage risks.

Dubai Business and Tax Advisors (DBTA) supports businesses through accounting and bookkeeping services, financial reporting, audit and assurance, tax advisory and business advisory. Its ACCA-qualified team helps companies maintain accurate financial information and manage their financial and compliance responsibilities.

AI can make some compliance checks faster and help organisations identify potential risks. However, it cannot remove the need for accurate records, strong financial controls and professional oversight. Dubai’s latest developments show why businesses should strengthen these foundations as financial compliance becomes more technology-driven.
