Ajman Launches AI-Powered Business License Setup: What It Means for UAE Entrepreneurs

Ajman Launches AI-Powered Business License Setup What It Means for UAE Entrepreneurs

Ajman, UAE: Ajman is taking another step toward AI-powered government services with the launch of a new smart assistant designed to simplify business setup and license issuance.

The Ajman Free Zones Authority (AFZA) launched the “OneClick Smart Assistant for Business Setup and Instant License Issuance” on 6 October 2026 during the Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 event. The new service uses Agentic AI to guide investors through the business establishment and licensing journey through a single smart conversation.

What Is the Real News?

The key development is not simply the use of AI in a government service. Ajman is moving toward a no-interface model, where users can explain what they need instead of moving between different platforms and completing separate forms.

According to the Ajman Government, the OneClick assistant starts by understanding an investor’s business idea. It can then propose suitable business activities and packages before guiding the user through the next stages of the setup process.

The journey includes data collection, identity verification, compliance, document processing, electronic signing, payment, application submission and follow-up, leading to license issuance.

This creates a more connected approach to business setup and reflects Ajman’s wider push to use artificial intelligence to make government services more proactive and easier to access.

Who Does This Apply To?

The development is particularly relevant to entrepreneurs, investors, and businesses planning to establish operations in Ajman.

For a new business owner, setting up a company can involve several decisions before a license is issued. These include understanding the business activity, selecting an appropriate setup route, and completing the required documentation.

The new AI-powered service is designed to make this customer journey more integrated. However, the launch should not be treated as a guarantee that every business will receive a license within a fixed number of minutes.

Ajman Free Zones Authority’s service terms also make clear that applications can remain subject to required information, documents, legal and compliance reviews, risk assessments and approvals from relevant authorities where required.

Why Does the Right Business Setup Matter?

A simpler digital process does not remove the need for careful planning. Entrepreneurs still need to select an activity that matches their intended operations and choose a suitable business structure.

Choosing the wrong setup can lead to changes later and may affect how a business manages its operations. This is why business planning and strategy should be considered before submitting a license application.

Businesses should also understand that an AI-supported process does not replace official approvals or regulatory requirements. The technology can make the process easier, but applicants remain responsible for providing accurate information and meeting applicable conditions.

What Should Entrepreneurs Do Now?

Entrepreneurs planning to establish a business in Ajman should first define their proposed activity clearly. They should then compare the available licensing options and understand the documents and approvals that may apply.

They should also consider their wider tax and compliance requirements instead of focusing only on obtaining the license. Understanding these requirements at the start can help businesses build a more organized structure.

Ajman has already been moving toward digital licensing. In December 2025, Ajman DED launched its “Go Business” service, which introduced a five-step digital process for commercial license issuance.

The new OneClick assistant takes this digital direction further by using Agentic AI to guide investors through a broader business setup journey.

What If Businesses Ignore Proper Planning?

Using a faster digital service does not mean businesses can overlook important setup decisions. If the proposed activity, structure, or required information is not properly reviewed, entrepreneurs may face additional work later.

Businesses should therefore treat AI licensing as a tool for improving the setup experience, not as a replacement for professional review.

A proper review of company formation requirements can help entrepreneurs understand the structure, licensing route, and documentation needed for their proposed business before they proceed.

What This Means for UAE Entrepreneurs

Ajman’s latest move shows how AI is becoming part of the UAE’s approach to government service delivery. For entrepreneurs, the main development is a more connected and user-focused approach to business licence setup.

However, technology does not remove the need for sound business decisions and regulatory preparation.

For investors who need support beyond the digital application process, Dubai Business and Tax Advisors (DBTA) can assist with business setup consultancy, company formation and related financial and regulatory requirements. Its professional approach can help entrepreneurs assess their setup needs and plan their business structure more effectively.

The launch of the OneClick Smart Assistant marks another step in Ajman’s digital transformation and gives entrepreneurs a new way to approach business license setup in the emirate.
